NORMAL – Illinois State University hosts its Redbird Regional Sales Competition to enhance the sales skills of students in a variety of role plays.
The competition will benefit both business students and sales professionals in a competitive environment. Students can test their abilities and get feedback from professionals that will build relationships with clients for further opportunities down the road.
Companies that are a part of the event provide internship and full-time employment opportunities for the attendees. Some of the students involved will prepare their sales skills for the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) that will take place in April. Dr. Duleep Delpechitre, one of the leaders of the competition, explains the overall concept of the event.
“The idea of the competition is for students to showcase their sales skills, but not only selling: to build up a relationship with a client and a customer in a matter of 20 minutes.”
Delpechitre says there are great opportunities for students that attend the Redbird Regional Sales Competition, providing wonderful experience for the professional workforce.
