NORMAL – After four seasons as the Head Coach of Redbird Swimming, ISU Athletics announced that Scott Cameron is stepping down from the position.

ISU Athletic Director Lyons made an official statement on the situation last week.

“We appreciate Scott’s contributions to the swimming and diving program over the past four seasons,” said Lyons. “We wish him the best moving forward, and we will immediately begin looking for a coach to build on the successes of our current group of talented student-athletes.”

In his four seasons at the helm of the Redbirds, Cameron helped the ISU swimmers to numerous schools records. In his second season, 19 of his swimmers had top-10 times in the MVC.

Despite accomplishments in the pool, Cameron helped coach multiple swimmers to awards outside the water, such as MVC Swimmer of the Week and All-Conference first team honors.

Coach Cameron came to ISU after his previous job as the assistant women’s swim coach at the University of Idaho.
