CHICAGO- Governor J.B Pritzker spoke on the behalf of the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency Program (CREATE) on Tuesday.
He was joined by Senator Dick Durban and Illinois Department of Transportation acting secretary Omer Osman at Randolph Elementary School in West Englewood in Chicago.
Pritzker explained the work with the railroad system, educational foundation, jobs, and the physical infrastructures of the communities surrounding Chicago.
He plans to create STEM programs across local neighbourhoods and at Randolph elementary.
Pritzker explains the CREATE program and the educational portion for kids.
“The CREATE Program demonstrates what it means to invest, not only in the physical infrastructure of our communities but in the educational tools,” said Pritzker. “Those are the tools that will power the next generation of urban planners, of engineers, of architects.”
Over 100 million dollars were provided to fix the structure of the CTA’s green and blue lines. Another 600 million dollars were committed to Kennedy expressways and over 90 million dollars was used for intersections such as Stoney Island Avenue and 95th street.
Pritzker expresses that he will build up Illinois and these programs to its strongest potential for the years ahead.
