ST. LOUIS, MO – Three Redbirds from the women’s tennis team were named to the 2020 MVC Tennis Scholar-Athlete Team Thursday afternoon.
Laura Arciniegas, Natalia Bravo and Ivon Mihaleva earned the honor for the Redbirds this season.
Arciniegas placed second in her flight at the MVC Individual Championship last fall and is 13-3 in singles play. She extended her win streak to 10 in a row with 7 match victories this spring.
Bravo was named to the MVC Doubles Team of the Week with teammate Tara Damjanovic and the duo won 6 of their last seven matches together. She was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team during the 2018 season.
Mihaleva claimed the MVC individual title in the fall as the No. 6 seed in the tournament. She ended the spring season with wins in 3 of her last 4 matches in addition to starting this season with wins in 6 of her first 8 matches.
Those selected to the team were voted on by the conference’s sports information directors.
