NORMAL, Ill. – Redbird women’s tennis handed out their seasonal awards during a Zoom meeting on Sunday.
Natalia Bravo and Tara Damnjanovic took home the MVP Doubles award after claiming the top spot with a 6-2 record while going on a five-match win streak at one point during the spring season; Damnjanovia also earned the Most Improved Award as voted on by the team.
“Being selected Most Improved player is a very special individual award and I’m truly happy,” said Damnjanovic. “One of my main goals is to get better every day and this award is very satisfying in terms of personal accomplishments. Being a doubles MVP with Natalia is another very significant award. Hard work, motivation and good communication with her definitely showed results.”
Laura Arciniegas was named the Singles MVP and tied for the Match Ball Award with teammate Ivon Mihaleva. Arciniegas finished with a 13-3 record in singles play and posted a 10-match win streak. Mihaleva went 9-5 overall this season and won three of her last four matches overall.
