NORMAL, Ill. – After pressure from the mayor of Normal, Young America has changed regulations at the Lodge.
Normal Mayor, Chris Koos expressed his concerns with Young America after consistent large gatherings not following social distancing guidelines at the Lodge.
Young America states that they are ‘taking seriously the public-health risks associated with the COVID-19 virus.’
“We are fully cooperating with the Town of Normal, including with their recent request to close certain common areas, including pools, spas, fire pits, and grill areas, of The Lodge on Willow,” said Andy Netzer, President of Young America Realty.
Concerns rose as videos surfaced of crowds gathering the weekend before Illinois State University started classes.
According to Netzer, Young America has a designated security detail to disperse crowds.
“We join the chorus of community voices asking the residents of our properties to consider the community impact of their personal decisions,” states Netzer.
