NORMAL, Ill.-McLean County Health Department is reporting 50 new cases of COVID-19 today, Aug. 26, 2020, bringing the total to 1236 cases.
Currently 450 individuals are isolating at home. Four individuals are currently hospitalized. There are 766 individuals that have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.
There have been 16 COVID-related deaths in McLean County.
The age breakdowns for the new cases:
Ages 1-9 years: 2 cases
Ages 18-19: 15 cases
Ages 20s: 28 cases
Ages 30s: 1 case
Ages 40s: 4 cases
Over 41,700 tests have been resulted for a cumulative positivity rate of 3%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 8.2% through Aug. 25, 2020.
The McLean County Health Department continues to monitor several key indicators that measure the health burden of COVID-19 and capture our county’s ability to respond.
The target indicators include new cases, number of deaths, positivity rates, testing, and hospital availability.
“We have been keeping a close eye on these data indicators and sharing situational updates with our local leaders to help them make informed decisions about when it might be appropriate to implement additional precautions,” said Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight.
“Individuals, families, and community groups can also use these critical data to help inform their choices about personal and family gatherings, as well as what activities they choose to do.”
