NORMAL Ill-  Despite a second half rally the Illinois State Men’s basketball team came up short in their series finale against Indiana State losing to the Sycamores by a score of 74-68. This resulted in Indiana State sweeping the Redbirds following a loss on Saturday.

One of the bright spots for the Redbirds was the play of Dusan Mahorcic who recorded a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another key contributor was Dedric Boyd whose 19 points led all scorers.

Indiana State point guard Tyreke Key moved into ninth place on the teams all time points list, he finished the game with 18 points. As a team the Sycamores generated 19 points from turnovers which proved to be costly for Illinois State.

The Redbirds will return to action on January 20th when they will host Bradley.
