NORMAL, Ill.- The town of Normal will highlight local businesses that are in town to help the start this upcoming holiday season.
The Town of Normal Communications Specialist Rachelle Cantero spoke about the event and what the local businesses are doing.
“We like to think that Holiday Open House as the kickoff to the holiday shopping season. During this day, I’m gonna assume that all are participating merchants will be doing some sort of sales or discounts on you know all holiday decor or merchandise or some unique gifts they would want to buy for your loved ones,” said Cantero.
Cantero also talked about what this upcoming event would mean to the community.
“Well we’re hoping that the community is as excited for Holiday Open House as we are. We are looking forward to lots of holiday spirit this weekend, all the red and green just putting everybody in the holiday spirit and also we do encourage you to start shopping early cause there still those delays in the supply chain. So, getting out there shopping and supporting local is gonna be helpful throughout the holiday season,” said Cantero.
She continued to mention the importance of shopping locally.
“Shopping local is so important and these shops in uptown are so unique and there definitely lots of products and merchandise that college students can enjoy,” said Cantero.
The event is being held November 6, 2021 in the downtown Normal area which run all day.
