ISU Swimming and Diving Finishes Season Strong

NORMAL- Ill. The 2021-2022 Illinois State Swimming and Diving season has finished with a splash.

The team had started the season with 155-144 victory against Evansville and ended the regular season with a 186-113 lose to Indiana State.

On, February 17-19, the redbirds had finished in 2nd place in the MVC championship they’re best season since the 2013-2014 season. On March 7-8, the team appeared in the NCAA C Zone Championship and March the CSCAA National Individual Championship. 

During the season multiple school records were broken. The first record broken in the season happened to be a 20-year old standing record. The event was the 400-yard medley.

The 400-yard medley members of the team include Madyson Morse, Cassiday Carey, Lauren Naegar and Emma Feltzer and now the official time for the record is now 3:50.91 

The second record that was broken this season was the 400-yard Freestyle. The old record happen to be 8-years old. The members of the relay were Olivia Gonder, Emma Feltzer, Diana Walker and Madyson Morse.

The broken record happened to fall on the final day of the CSCAA. The new team record is 3:24.52 beating the old record by .03 seconds.

This years team had four seniors to the team which were Julia Kolar, Julia Oostman, Haley Riveria, and Sarah Hein.
