NORMAL, Ill. – Current Attorney General Kwame Raoul will be running against downstate Illinois Attorney Thomas DeVore for the seat of Attorney General of Illinois.

Raoul was first put in office as Attorney General four years ago when he took over for Lisa Madigan. If elected, Raoul would serve his second term as Attorney General of Illinois.

Raoul has taken on crime and women’s rights as his main causes to fight for. Running on the Democratic ticket, Raoul will look to keep office.

Republican Attorney Thomas DeVore will be running against Raoul. DeVore currently works in law as an attorney in Southern Illinois. DeVore is most known for the lawsuit against Gov. J.B. Pritzker which combated his COVID-19 stay-at-home order.
