NORMAL, IL—Week one of high school football wrapped up this past weekend. All five teams in the Bloomington-Normal area won.
The Normal Community Ironmen kicked off their season with a 55-12 win over the Richwood Knights. Next week, they will host Normal West in a rivalry matchup on Friday at 7 pm.
The Normal West Wildcats snuck by in a close one over the Peoria Notre Dame Irish by a score of 33-27. They will travel to Normal Community next to take on the Ironmen on Friday at 7 pm.
The UHigh Pioneers defeated the Manual Rams 64-28 at home. They will travel to Bloomington in Week 2 on Friday at 7 pm.
The Bloomington Purple Raiders had no problems with the Vikings of Danville with a final of 41-14. Next week, they will host the Pioneers of UHigh at 7 pm.
Finally, the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints manhandled the Pontiac Indians 42-7. They will host Rantoul in Week 2 on Friday at 7 pm.
