WEEK SEVEN FOOTBALL WRAP-UP: Normal Community continuing to build off momentum

NORMAL, Ill. – Seven weeks into the 2024 IHSA football campaign, all 5 teams were in action. Some surprises were in store, so let’s take a look at this week’s scoreboard.

Normal Community has seemingly solidified itself as the top team in Bloomington-Normal in Week 7. The Ironmen rolled through Daville 71-12. They’ll travel to Centennial on Friday for a 7 pm conference showdown.

Normal West stayed in the win column with a 49-6 win over Manual. The Wildcats will host Champaign Central on Friday at 7 pm.

Bloomington bounced back in week 7 with a 34-7 win over Peoria Notre Dame. The Purple Raiders are currently second in conference play behind Normal Community. They’ll travel to Peoria for a 7 pm showdown with the Lions this Friday.

UHigh handled Decatur Eisenhower on the road with a final of 40-12. The Pioneers will host Springfield Southeast at 7 pm on Friday.

After a tough loss last week, Bloomington Central Catholic turned things around, beating Illinois Valley Central 49-28 on the road. The Saints will host St. Bede at home on Friday at 7.
