NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State football hit the road to Indiana to take on the Indiana State Sycamores.

In the first quarter, the Sycamores were the first team to score points with a rushing touchdown, and they led 7-0 at the end of the quarter.

The second quarter saw the Redbirds score two passing touchdowns and a field goal. The Sycamores went scoreless this quarter, and ISU led by the end of the first half 17-7.

The third quarter saw more of the same from the Redbirds, who scored two more touchdowns unanswered. The Sycamores scored two more touchdowns to close out this game, but that wasn’t enough, and the Redbirds won this game 31-19.

Quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse passed for 319 yards and three touchdowns in this contest. Receiver Daniel Sobkowicz would lead the way with 156 yards receiving and two receiving touchdowns.

With the win over the Sycamores, the Redbirds are increasingly likely to have sealed themselves a bid in the FCS playoff.

ISU moves to 5-2 in conference play and 8-3 overall and will return to Hancock Stadium for Senior Day this Saturday at 12 pm.
