NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State women’s basketball will be back in action Wednesday night on the road in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to play Northern Iowa.

The Redbirds come into the matchup with a 4–4 record and will look to bounce back after dropping three straight last week in the Puerto Rico Shootout. During that three-game stretch, ISU fell to Rice, East Carolina, and Wake Forest.

Leading the way for the Redbirds this season is forward Addison Martin, who tops the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. Right behind her is forward Doneelah Washington, averaging 13 points and 9.5 rebounds nearly a double-double so far this season. Illinois State has four players averaging double figures this year, giving the Redbirds a balanced offensive attack.

This will be the first conference matchup of the season for both Illinois State and Northern Iowa, as each team looks to open Missouri Valley play on the right foot. Wednesday night will mark the 94th all-time meeting between the programs. The Redbirds lead the all-time series 49–44, but UNI has won six of the last 10 matchups.

Northern Iowa comes into the game with a 2–4 record and is coming off a loss to UNLV.

The game will tip off at 6 p.m. at the McLeod Center.
