NORMAL Ill. – Redbird soccer will look to bounce back from a recent losing streak on Thursday.

The Redbirds have now lost three games in a row. With the most recent loss against Indiana State, the team’s record is now 2-9.  Even though scoring has been an issue for the Redbirds, they’ve had scoring opportunities. They average 10.4 shots a game. The Redbird’s leading scorer is senior Allison Baker with three goals this season so far. Hillary Griffin leads the team in assists with five.

Deciding what to change for your team can be difficult for any coach. ISU Head Coach Marisa Kresge has ideas on how to change up the game plan for future games.

“I think that we have the right pieces and we have some good moments and keep the ball.” Kresge said, “it’s just not consistent enough. Finding a way to put people in better situations more often, take more risks, and be more dynamic is something that we’re really focusing on. I don’t think it’s a system thing, I think it’s more of encouraging players to take more risks and try things.”

The Redbirds next game is Thursday at Drake. The last two times the Redbirds have played Drake it has been a draw and a loss. Currently for Drake, junior Emma Nagel leads the team in goals with three. Drake’s record for the season has been 1-6-4 with their last win against Kansas City to open the season.
