In the April edition of Bird’s-I-View, producer Colleen Holden, and co-hosts Gavin Broderick, and Blake Borgardt take a look at name, image, and likeness deals for collegiate athletes.

Braden Fogerson started the show by detailing the history of NIL deals. (1:56-4:11). Next Cason Schingoethe joined us live in the studio to talk about NIL’s presence at Illinois Wesleyan University. (5:12-8:35)

Then Blake Borgardt talked about the lack of availability of NIL deals for international students. (9:55-12:54)  Following that, Tim Zalaback talked about the unique way ISU football player Wenkers Wright uses the money he makes from his NIL deals to provide for his family in Hati. (13:57-15:41).

Next Audra Goff dived into the disparity between NIL deals for male and female athletes. (16:59-19:34). Finally, Matt Cherry closed out the show by talking about the potential psychological effects an athlete may experience after signing an NIL deal. (20:17-23:03).
