Just as quickly as school starts for students at Illinois State University, tables and booths are set up for Festival ISU.

What has now been shortened down from three to two days, Festival ISU is an event on the quad in which RSO’s (Registered Student Organizations) set up booths promoting their club.

Many RSO’s at ISU have a mission that they are trying to go for with their club. Member of the Asian Pacific Islander Club Emily Lauraeno talked about what her club sets out to do on the campus of ISU.

“Our central mission, especially in the MCC [Multicultural Center], is working on pillars of identity and belonging,” she says. “As well as getting to have people in the Asian and Pacific Islander population at ISU be able to mingle and meet each other.”

Festival ISU featured many booths for clubs such as APIC, but also employment opportunities at ISU such as Redbird Productions, an ESPN affiliate of Illinois State University which broadcasts all of the sporting events at the University.

Festival ISU is scheduled to return next year in the same two day format.
