BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The City of Bloomington is hosting the second open house for the Downtown Streetscape event on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 4-6:30 p.m.
This event is an initiative for all members of the community to help reshape Downtown Bloomington. The public can attend this free of charge to provide input on the city’s progress and current ideas. This will be held at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts located at 600 N East Street, Bloomington IL.
Communications and External Affairs Manager of Bloomington Katherine Murphy spoke about what the event entails and its goals.
Murphy said, “The City of Bloomington is in a planning stage, for a potential revamp of our Downtown area. For example different sidewalks and parking lots.”
At the open house, residents can learn about the plans and what the city is working on.
Murphy explains, “At the last open house, residents were voting on different styles and which ones they prefer. We will showcase those again on Tuesday, Feb. 13.”
The main goal for this event is to inform the public on the potential renovation of the Downtown area. There will be a number of different stations set up where residents can walk through to ask questions and learn different aspects of the project.
