On this week’s episode of Second Look, WZND’s Colleen Holden and Luke Biondi took a look at the upcoming solar eclipse, and how McLean County is observing Distracted Driving Month and Public Health Awareness Week.  

The show opened with an interview between Lauren Leisure from the news team and Illinois State University’s Planetarium Director Thomas Willmitch, about the science behind the upcoming solar eclipse news (0:58- 7:57).

Following that, Luke and Colleen discussed the local developments occurring over the last week, as well as an update on local sports (8:25 – 10:41).

Next, Riley Klump from the news team sat down with Officer Brad Park of the Normal Police Department to discuss how the NPD is taking advantage of Distracted Driving Awareness Month (10:58-15:18).

Finally, the show closed with an interview between Colleen and Marianne Manko,  the Public Affairs Coordinator for the McLean County Health Department about the observance of Public Health Awareness Week (15:28-21:48).
