In this week’s episode of Second Look, WZND’s Rachael Deerfield and Jason Zaehler took a look at the Bloomington Normal’s Humane Society’s fundraiser, speaking to the student body regarding recent political violence, Normal Town Council’s newest resolutions, a six and half hour-long redbird football win, regional NFL and MLB games and scores.
To open the show June Delahunty spoke to the Bloomington Normal Humane Society about one of their largest fundraisers of the year. (0:35)
Next, Kaitlyn Witas spoke to several students around the ISU campus about their feelings following recent political violence and their thoughts on current campus safety. (1:54)
Bella Marello attended the Normal Town Council Meeting to hear about the resolution regarding the town increasing the limit of dogs one may have in their household. (4:40)
After the break, Rachael Interviewed WZND’s Birds-I-View host Colleen Holden who spoke about next week’s show and their topic of the Big Beautiful Bill. (7:49)
After another break Jason spoke about the redbirds 38-36 double overtime win against North Alabama where two weather delays led to a total of six-and-a-half hours of total game time and Brock spack spoke about the effects of the rain delay on his players. (12:28)
Rachael then spoke to Jason about his experience doing play-by-play for the game and asked about how the redbirds played and pulled through in the gritty win. (13:07)
After speaking on the Redbird football win Rachael and Jason concluded the show by  speaking about ISU’s volleyball team, the Chicago Bears underwhelming start to the season, and The Chicago Cubs clinching a 2025 Wild Card spot.
