NORMAL Ill.- The Women in the Business club at Illinois State University is recruiting women for the spring semester. This is a club for those interested in learning more about how to work in the business world. Tonight there will be an information meeting about the club at 7 in the State Farm Hall of Business in room 139.
WIB is sponsored by 10 corporate businesses who help fund their events and speak to the girls as well.
President of WIB Melissa Mutters explained the goals of the club, “It’s really about empowering women in the business world and teaching them the proper etiquette of how to work inside the business world.”
Those in the club have the opportunity to hear from professionals in business and are able to learn from their past experiences.
WIB has sessions on interviews, negotiations and resume building.
Mutters said WIB helps women gain a community and confidence in themselves.
“So really just teaching the girls how to go out in the business world and be confident in everything they do,” said Mutters.
