Redbirds Men’s Basketball Set for Arch Madness

NORMAL – Redbird Men’s Basketball may not have put together the most glamorous of seasons, but an opportunity resides in the annual Arch Madness tournament.

The Redbirds had a disappointing 10-20 regular season, including tallying just one road win. The narrative can all be changed with a run beginning tomorrow night when they take on the Drake Bulldogs.

In their last meeting with Drake ISU took home the 57-53 victory behind a big performance by forward Keith Fisher. That game will be held in St. Louis tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Enterprise Center.

The tournament itself is quite rigorous, as there are no days off for teams that did not earn a bye. Head Coach Dan Muller knows the grind of the schedule being the head coach of the Redbirds for previous runs.

“You get home so late, even though you have the extra hours your body clock is different,” said Coach Muller. “And so you don’t have the prep time that night so you get done with that late game, you get to the hotel at 11:30. So even though you have more time the second day it’s not an ideal turnaround.”

WZND will have coverage of the game tomorrow night starting at 5:00 with an early edition of the RedZone.
