BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The First Friday of the month marks First Friday in Downtown Bloomington. This event focuses on engaging the community, especially local downtown business and young local talent. This Frist Friday is a little different.
A Downtown Bloomington Association representative Nora Jewkawitz expanded on what is unique about this First Friday.
Bloomington will have a “duel theme.”
“We have got discovering young artists and we are celebrating international Women’s day, that is this weekend on March 8,” said Jewkawitz.
This event showcases the visual arts and artists for the purpose of art education, visibility and the opportunity to purchase and collect art.
“This gives the next generation of artists an opportunity to share their work with the public.”
There will be a gallery that is featuring an alumni of BHS students, one of who graduated in 1972, who are taking their places for the fun.
The event will be Mar. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
