ST. LOUIS – Redbird senior golfer Becca Black was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team Thursday, April 9.
According to GolfStat, Black is third in the MVC and averaging about 76 strokes per round.
She scored par or under par in three rounds this season.
During the 2019-2020 season, Black placed third at the Dayton Invitational and finished within the top-25 in all seven tournaments she competed in.
However, her best outing came in the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational when she finished one stroke under par.
To be considered for this team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically.
A student-athlete must also maintain at least a 3.30 GPA, and competed in at least half of their team’s rounds.
Black was one of 16 student-athletes who earned first-team or an honorable mention.
The team was voted on by the MVC’s golf sports information directors.
