This weekend the Redbirds men’s basketball team will take on the Southern Illinois Salukis. The program is coming off a tough weekend where they dropped two games to Missouri State and remain at the bottom of the valley. However, they look to change their fortune against another young team. The Redbirds are 2-11 in conference play this season but can make up some ground with a pair of wins over the Salukis.
When speaking about the Southern Illinois team head coach Dan Muller spoke highly of the Salukis defense.
“They’re just solid, we are certainly expecting to have to play well offensively.”
Muller gave credit to Southern’s squad but acknowledged that they have had trouble guarding this year. The Redbirds will look to take high percentage shots and handle the ball with care to limit the number of turnovers.
