NORMAL- Redbird hoops is just around the corner ladies and gentlemen. Women’s Basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie announced today the non-conference schedule for 2021-2022 season. With travel restrictions relaxed from the previous season, the Redbirds have some exciting matchups in store.
To begin the campaign Illinois State takes a road trip to Dekalb, Illinois to face Northern Illinois on November 9th. ISU also faces Purdue in it’s home opener, the first time the Redbirds have hosted an opponent from the Big 10 conference in five years. Other key matchups include Wisconsin, UC Irvine, Dayton, and Saint Louis as part of the 12 game schedule.

This season will feature upperclassmen Mary Crompton and JuJu Redmond on a team that just reached the postseason for the first time in 8 years. Standout guards Terrion Moore and Paige Saylor have departed, but Coach Gillespie welcomes olympian Jada Stinson and four freshmen to the team. It should be an exciting season for the Redbirds as they look to replicate their success from last season.
