BREAKING: A Teenager Is Pronounced Dead In Fatal Crash

NORMAL, Ill.-The McLean County Coroner has pronounced a teenager dead after a fatal vehicle crash.

Coroner Kathy Yoder explained that around 11:49 a.m. Normal Police Department responded to a crash on Main Street and Summit which involved a school bus and a passenger vehicle.

The passenger vehicle driver was identified as 19-year-old Gavin Lartz. According to Yoder the bus was occupied by one driver who was going south on Main Street from Summit. The passenger vehicle going north bound struck the bus causing Lartz to have severe injuries. Lartz was extricated by Normal Fire Department and was rushed to the Carle BroMenn Center Emergency Room.

An autopsy is scheduled for October 30, 2021. This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office, Normal Police Department, and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team.
