NORMAL - Tuesday morning, all Illinois State University students and faculty received an emergency alert concerning the safety of students with the presence of ice on campus. Emergency Management alerted the campus of the safety precaution and cancelled all activities and classes before 10 am. NORMAL - The Illinois State Redbirds (10-8, 3-2 MVC) returned to Redbird Arena Tuesday night to defeat the Southern Illinois Salukis (9-9, 2-3 MVC) 59-58. Due to icy conditions Tuesday morning, Illinois State University will not open until 10 a.m. Both 8 a.m. and 9:35 a.m. courses are cancelled, and non-essential staff is not required to report to work until 10 a.m. Olympia Schools are also starting late at 9 a.m. after an hour delay also due to icy conditions.
