NCT 127 is a K-pop group that debuted in 2016. The group currently has 3,206,093
monthly listeners on Spotify. Their new album “2 Baddies” just came out on September
16th, 2022. The album includes 12 songs and has a running time of 42 minutes and 34
seconds.

The album first starts off with the track, “Faster,” which opens the album with an
attention-grabbing beat. “Faster” is about adrenaline rushes and is meant to get you
excited about the album. Although it’s the album’s shortest song with a running time of 2
minutes and 50 seconds, this song really packs a punch full of bright and bold.

Of course, we can’t forget about the title track “2 Baddies!” As a common pattern in NCT
127’s title tracks, “2 Baddies” has a somewhat quirky underlying beat. My personal
favorite part of this song is the bridge. There’s something so musically pleasing about it. I just like to listen to that part on repeat.

One of my favorite songs off this album is “Time Lapse.” The beat starts off with an
almost retro video game sound and goes into this R&B beat. The harmonies in this song
are just incomparable. Another song that really catches my eye is “Playback.” This song just radiates playful and magical vibes. The song is about playing back your favorite memories of your significant other. It’s honestly a beautiful song.

“1, 2, 7 (Time Stops)” is such an interesting end to the album. It’s a nice juxtaposition to
the first track, “Faster.” While “Faster” is about fast and exciting moments in a
relationship, “1, 2, 7 (Time Stops)” is about how your significant other makes you so
happy that time stops around you. It’s a very cute love song while not being a very slow
song.

Overall, I thought this album was very refreshing. It combined themes of past albums
with new beats and messages. At first glance I didn’t think this album would be as good
as their others. But once you really dive into the album and unpack it, I hope you think of it as fantastic as I do.
