Marvelous - Yung Gravy Rosie Chappell

By Rosie Chappell

Matthew Hauri, also known as Yung Gravy, is a Minnesotan rapper who started his
career through SoundCloud. He currently has 10,066,866 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Gravy’s new album, Marvelous, came out October 28, 2022. The album includes 15
songs and has a running time of 40 minutes and 9 seconds.

Marvelous first starts off with the track “Isn’t It Just Marvelous?” which features bbno$
on the song. This track is a great opening and sets the mood of the album. I really like
the beat changes in the song and how catchy it is.

My all time favorite on this album is “Dancing In The Rain.” I really like how Gravy
remixes some lyrics from his older songs like “The Boys Are Back In Town” and
“Cheryl,” to mix into this song. The chorus is also super catchy and was stuck in my
head for a while. Plus the beat is just so smooth with it.

Another favorite of mine is “Skiing in Japan Freestyle.” This song is so interesting to me.
It reminds me a little bit of some of his old songs but also gives off new Gravy vibes.
This song is just fun to dance to too.

A song that also catches my eye is “C’est La Vie” which features bbno$ and Rich Brian.
This song is super upbeat and really gets me pumped up. I actually saw Yung Gravy
and bbno$ when they came to ISU and this song was so fun to sing with my friends in
concert.

Of course I can’t not mention the iconic “Betty (Get Money)!” This song is in the number
one spot in the popular songs list under Yung Gravy’s profile on Spotify and has
150,373,996 streams.

Overall, this is one of my favorite Gravy albums. Honestly, this is a no skip album for
me, and it was awesome to hear some of these songs live!
